Construction and materials

The system has a titanium central silencer, two side silencers and a titanium manifold. The steel connecting tubes have a larger diameter than the stock ones, special flexible fittings and full insulation at the connections with the downpipes.

There is a throttle at each side silencer. The third works in the active X-pipe element and controls the exhaust pulses from both sides of the engine. The valve housings and the assembled X-pipe are manufactured in Akrapovič's own foundry.

The ends, one on each side of the car, combine a hand-molded carbon cover with a sandblasted and coated titanium part. Their shape is an integral finish to the entire structure.

Sound characteristics

A deep hum at low rpm transitions into a strong mid-range, followed by high, racing tones. Downshifts are accompanied by a clear, sharp rumble.

Tuning covers every rpm range and maintains comfort during everyday driving, reducing excessive noise and unwanted rumble.

Expansion Options & Accessories

Optionally, the system can be expanded with a Sound Kit module for manual throttle control and exhaust sound adjustment, and a rear diffuser - fluted matte or high-gloss.

System Configuration

The S-AU/T/1H works with the required L-AU/SS/8/1 kit; the division into two codes is due to the packaging. If a complete Downpipe / Link Pipe is used, a separate L-AU/SS/8/1 section is not needed.

Akrapovič creates performance exhaust systems that combine lightweight construction with carefully developed sound. Depending on the application, the brand uses titanium, stainless steel and carbon-fibre components.

An in-house titanium foundry and materials laboratory support control over key stages of exhaust production. Akrapovic is an option for sports car owners who value component weight, craftsmanship and distinctive tailpipe detailing.

Akrapovič quality control includes alloy composition, mechanical properties and weld analysis. Prototype measurements use optical scanning and coordinate measuring equipment. Sound development combines road testing, dynamometer work, flow measurements and acoustic simulations.

History and development. Akrapovič was founded in 1991, with its development rooted in motorcycle racing. Milestones included entering MotoGP in 2002, opening its own titanium foundry in 2009 and adding a second factory in 2014.

The business today. The company now manufactures motorcycle and performance-car exhausts in Slovenia for aftermarket customers and OEM partners. Racing-team support remains part of its operations. Its laboratories, foundry and manufacturing facilities enable materials research and acoustic development to take place within the business rather than relying solely on external suppliers.
