Akrapovič Evolution Line titanium exhaust for Audi RS7 C7

Construction and materials

The titanium Evolution system uses die-cast manifolds and three silencers. The central muffler features an internal X-pipe that contributes to the exhaust gas flow path and influences the sound of the system. The design is complemented by carbon fiber tips.

This is a cat-back system: it replaces the part of the exhaust located behind the catalytic converters, leaving the factory catalytic converters in place. The valves work with the car's stock electronics to control their opening and closing.

Sound characteristics

At lower revs, the exhaust gives the engine a deep tone. During more dynamic driving, the character becomes clearer, and when the throttle is removed, there are characteristic combustion noises.

The timbre of the sound is worked on by the entire system of three silencers along with the central X-pipe element. The throttle control remains linked to the car's factory system.

Parameters by manufacturer

  • Power increase: 7 kW at 5950 rpm
  • Torque increase: 15,4 Nm at 3300 rpm
  • Weight reduction: 8,1 kg.

System Configuration

In a cat-back configuration that retains serial catalytic converters, the system does not require a change in the engine control unit.

Akrapovič creates performance exhaust systems that combine lightweight construction with carefully developed sound. Depending on the application, the brand uses titanium, stainless steel and carbon-fibre components.

An in-house titanium foundry and materials laboratory support control over key stages of exhaust production. Akrapovic is an option for sports car owners who value component weight, craftsmanship and distinctive tailpipe detailing.

Akrapovič quality control includes alloy composition, mechanical properties and weld analysis. Prototype measurements use optical scanning and coordinate measuring equipment. Sound development combines road testing, dynamometer work, flow measurements and acoustic simulations.

History and development. Akrapovič was founded in 1991, with its development rooted in motorcycle racing. Milestones included entering MotoGP in 2002, opening its own titanium foundry in 2009 and adding a second factory in 2014.

The business today. The company now manufactures motorcycle and performance-car exhausts in Slovenia for aftermarket customers and OEM partners. Racing-team support remains part of its operations. Its laboratories, foundry and manufacturing facilities enable materials research and acoustic development to take place within the business rather than relying solely on external suppliers.
