Akrapovič BMW M5 G90 / M5 G99 Touring Evolution Cat-Back Titanium
Akrapovič Evolution Cat-Back Titanium Exhaust for BMW M5 G90 / M5 G99 Touring
Construction and materials
The system is made of lightweight, high-grade titanium. The main tubes have an increased diameter, and the specially designed manifolds and valve housings are made in the Akrapovič titanium foundry. A special control kit uses the valves to shape the sound in individual driving modes.
The tips combine titanium with handcrafted carbon fiber covers. You can choose between a new hexagonal form or a classic round form. Both variants have integrated acoustic deflectors that reflect some of the external sound towards the cabin.
The titanium section of the Evolution Link Pipe features an X-pipe cast in its own plant. It allows the exhaust gas to be mixed from both sides of the engine and shapes the flow before the Slip-On section.
Sound characteristics
Tone and sound level change with engine rpm and load. Downshifts are accompanied by characteristic shots, and when driving calmly, the tone remains rich and comfortable.
The valves in the Slip-On shape the sound in different car settings. Deflectors in the tips direct some of that sound into the cabin, and the X-pipe section of the Evolution adds additional acoustic complexity to the flow from both sides of the engine.
Parameters by manufacturer
- Overall result compared to the production BMW M5: +8.5 kW at 6150 rpm and +15.6 Nm at 2550 rpm.

Akrapovič creates performance exhaust systems that combine lightweight construction with carefully developed sound. Depending on the application, the brand uses titanium, stainless steel and carbon-fibre components.
An in-house titanium foundry and materials laboratory support control over key stages of exhaust production. Akrapovic is an option for sports car owners who value component weight, craftsmanship and distinctive tailpipe detailing.
Akrapovič quality control includes alloy composition, mechanical properties and weld analysis. Prototype measurements use optical scanning and coordinate measuring equipment. Sound development combines road testing, dynamometer work, flow measurements and acoustic simulations.
History and development. Akrapovič was founded in 1991, with its development rooted in motorcycle racing. Milestones included entering MotoGP in 2002, opening its own titanium foundry in 2009 and adding a second factory in 2014.
The business today. The company now manufactures motorcycle and performance-car exhausts in Slovenia for aftermarket customers and OEM partners. Racing-team support remains part of its operations. Its laboratories, foundry and manufacturing facilities enable materials research and acoustic development to take place within the business rather than relying solely on external suppliers.
