Akrapovič BMW M8/M8 Competition Gran Coupé F93 OPF/GPF Slip-On Line Titanium

Akrapovič BMW M8/M8 Competition Gran Coupé F93 OPF/GPF Slip-On Line Titanium

Akrapovič Slip-On Line sports exhaust system dedicated to the BMW M8/M8 Competition Gran Coupé F93 with GPF filter

Construction and materials

The Slip-On is made of lightweight titanium alloys. The central silencer has two dampers, one on each side, which shape the exhaust gas flow. Their housings and the manifolds leading from the silencer to the tips were cast at the Akrapovič plant.

Two pairs of tips combine carbon fiber with titanium. The system remains the starting point for further expansion with the titanium Evolution Link Pipe Set, which changes the flow and acoustics of the entire exhaust.

Sound characteristics

The sound differs from the stock M8 system especially when accelerating and shifting. Two valves adjust the flow to enhance the distinctive Akrapovič timbre.

The optional Sound Kit gives the driver additional control over the sound. And the Evolution Link Pipe expands mechanically on the exhaust path and develops the character of the Slip-On sound.

Finishing and Expansion

Separate carbon diffusers and mirror caps are available for the system, in matte or gloss versions. They can be stylistically complemented by carbon-titanium tips.

Akrapovič creates performance exhaust systems that combine lightweight construction with carefully developed sound. Depending on the application, the brand uses titanium, stainless steel and carbon-fibre components.

An in-house titanium foundry and materials laboratory support control over key stages of exhaust production. Akrapovic is an option for sports car owners who value component weight, craftsmanship and distinctive tailpipe detailing.

Akrapovič quality control includes alloy composition, mechanical properties and weld analysis. Prototype measurements use optical scanning and coordinate measuring equipment. Sound development combines road testing, dynamometer work, flow measurements and acoustic simulations.

History and development. Akrapovič was founded in 1991, with its development rooted in motorcycle racing. Milestones included entering MotoGP in 2002, opening its own titanium foundry in 2009 and adding a second factory in 2014.

The business today. The company now manufactures motorcycle and performance-car exhausts in Slovenia for aftermarket customers and OEM partners. Racing-team support remains part of its operations. Its laboratories, foundry and manufacturing facilities enable materials research and acoustic development to take place within the business rather than relying solely on external suppliers.
