Akrapovič BMW XM G09 Slip-On Line Titanium

Akrapovič BMW XM G09 Slip-On Line Titanium

Akrapovič Slip-On Titanium Exhaust for BMW XM G09

Construction and materials

The titanium system incorporates acoustic deflectors that direct part of the external sound towards the cabin. This allows the sound to reach the driver and passengers more clearly. Two valves, one on each side of the silencer, work together with the Akrapovič control system.

The damper housings and two manifolds are manufactured in the company's own titanium foundry. The finish is made up of two pairs of tips with a titanium inner sleeve and a handcrafted carbon fiber cover.

Sound characteristics

The sound builds up smoothly depending on the engine speed and load. At low revs, it is soft and harmonious, in the mid-range there is a characteristic V8 rumble, and at high speeds, more powerful frequencies with a sporty timbre dominate.

Acoustic deflectors and controlled valves also allow this mileage to be felt inside the car.

Akrapovič creates performance exhaust systems that combine lightweight construction with carefully developed sound. Depending on the application, the brand uses titanium, stainless steel and carbon-fibre components.

An in-house titanium foundry and materials laboratory support control over key stages of exhaust production. Akrapovic is an option for sports car owners who value component weight, craftsmanship and distinctive tailpipe detailing.

Akrapovič quality control includes alloy composition, mechanical properties and weld analysis. Prototype measurements use optical scanning and coordinate measuring equipment. Sound development combines road testing, dynamometer work, flow measurements and acoustic simulations.

History and development. Akrapovič was founded in 1991, with its development rooted in motorcycle racing. Milestones included entering MotoGP in 2002, opening its own titanium foundry in 2009 and adding a second factory in 2014.

The business today. The company now manufactures motorcycle and performance-car exhausts in Slovenia for aftermarket customers and OEM partners. Racing-team support remains part of its operations. Its laboratories, foundry and manufacturing facilities enable materials research and acoustic development to take place within the business rather than relying solely on external suppliers.
