Akrapovič Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 / CLA 45 S (C118/X118) Evolution Line
Akrapovič Evolution Line sports exhaust system dedicated to the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 / CLA 45 S (C118/X118) with and without GPF
Design and materials
The Evolution system uses a lightweight titanium exhaust section and two pairs of titanium and carbon fiber tips. The specially developed throttle has a housing cast in Akrapovič's own foundry.
Its position is controlled by the Control Kit electronics, also developed by Akrapovič. The system integrates the exhaust control with AMG Dynamic Select, allowing the driver to select the level of sportiness through the car's settings.
Sound characteristics
Daily mode delivers a smooth sound that accentuates the engine without discomfort or hum. Sport settings develop deep tones in the mid-rpm range and richer high frequencies as you approach the upper range.
Gear shifting becomes a more pronounced element of the acoustic experience, and when the throttle is removed, you can hear the characteristic crackles. The whole thing gives a wide transition from a comfortable ride to an intense, sporty tone.
Expansion Options & Accessories
Optionally, the system can be expanded with a downpipe with catalytic converter and a Sound kit for throttle control.
Configuration and expansion
A complete Evolution requires S-ME/TI/12H and L-ME/SS/3 parts. The next step in the upgrade can be an optional stainless steel downpipe. The system also fits the CLA 45 S Shooting Brake.

Akrapovič creates performance exhaust systems that combine lightweight construction with carefully developed sound. Depending on the application, the brand uses titanium, stainless steel and carbon-fibre components.
An in-house titanium foundry and materials laboratory support control over key stages of exhaust production. Akrapovic is an option for sports car owners who value component weight, craftsmanship and distinctive tailpipe detailing.
Akrapovič quality control includes alloy composition, mechanical properties and weld analysis. Prototype measurements use optical scanning and coordinate measuring equipment. Sound development combines road testing, dynamometer work, flow measurements and acoustic simulations.
History and development. Akrapovič was founded in 1991, with its development rooted in motorcycle racing. Milestones included entering MotoGP in 2002, opening its own titanium foundry in 2009 and adding a second factory in 2014.
The business today. The company now manufactures motorcycle and performance-car exhausts in Slovenia for aftermarket customers and OEM partners. Racing-team support remains part of its operations. Its laboratories, foundry and manufacturing facilities enable materials research and acoustic development to take place within the business rather than relying solely on external suppliers.
