Akrapovič Evolution exhaust for MINI Cooper S R56
Design and materials
The Evolution is made of high-grade stainless steel. The kit includes a flow-optimized connecting pipe, a resonator and a rear silencer. This configuration creates a consistent exhaust gas path from the middle section of the system to its end.
The two tips have a diameter of 95 mm. The carbon variant is handmade; an alternative is a titanium finish. Further expansion is made possible by the optional downpipe with a sports catalytic converter, which is a separate part of the kit.
Sound characteristics
The sound has a sportier, more aggressive character to that of a compact MINI. The silencer and resonator have been tuned so that the change in tone is not accompanied by unwanted hum.
The system emphasizes the operation of the four-cylinder engine, and its design has also been developed for mid-range response.
Parameters by manufacturer
- Power increase: 2,1 kW at 5700 rpm
- Torque increase: 4,5 Nm at 3850 rpm
- Weight: 12,8 kg; reduction of 2,3 kg.

Akrapovič creates performance exhaust systems that combine lightweight construction with carefully developed sound. Depending on the application, the brand uses titanium, stainless steel and carbon-fibre components.
An in-house titanium foundry and materials laboratory support control over key stages of exhaust production. Akrapovic is an option for sports car owners who value component weight, craftsmanship and distinctive tailpipe detailing.
Akrapovič quality control includes alloy composition, mechanical properties and weld analysis. Prototype measurements use optical scanning and coordinate measuring equipment. Sound development combines road testing, dynamometer work, flow measurements and acoustic simulations.
History and development. Akrapovič was founded in 1991, with its development rooted in motorcycle racing. Milestones included entering MotoGP in 2002, opening its own titanium foundry in 2009 and adding a second factory in 2014.
The business today. The company now manufactures motorcycle and performance-car exhausts in Slovenia for aftermarket customers and OEM partners. Racing-team support remains part of its operations. Its laboratories, foundry and manufacturing facilities enable materials research and acoustic development to take place within the business rather than relying solely on external suppliers.
