Fitment
The geometry was developed for the BMW M3 and M4. The wing does not fit the BMW M3 Touring G81 or the M340i Touring G21.
Design and materials
The sash is handcrafted from lightweight carbon fiber and coated with a high-gloss lacquer. The two swan neck brackets are made of CNC-machined aluminum. Their geometry has been optimized for a favorable load-to-weight ratio.
The screws connecting the wing to the brackets and the reinforcements of the pivot points are made of high-quality titanium. Titanium elements increase the stability of the structure in places where loads are transferred. On the sides there are discreet, monochrome Akrapovič logos.
Aerodynamics and adjustment
The wing profile was developed using computational CFD fluid mechanics. The design takes into account a favorable downforce-to-drag ratio and the reduction of additional turbulence and noise around the rear of the body. A small strip on the trailing edge helps to increase downforce.
The wing angle can be manually selected in three positions, adjusting the configuration before riding.

Akrapovič quality control includes alloy composition, mechanical properties and weld analysis. Prototype measurements use optical scanning and coordinate measuring equipment. Sound development combines road testing, dynamometer work, flow measurements and acoustic simulations.
History and development. Akrapovič was founded in 1991, with its development rooted in motorcycle racing. Milestones included entering MotoGP in 2002, opening its own titanium foundry in 2009 and adding a second factory in 2014.
The business today. The company now manufactures motorcycle and performance-car exhausts in Slovenia for aftermarket customers and OEM partners. Racing-team support remains part of its operations. Its laboratories, foundry and manufacturing facilities enable materials research and acoustic development to take place within the business rather than relying solely on external suppliers.
