Sport exhaust system, type Cat-back by Capristo designed for Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG C117.
Made entirely of polished T309 stainless steel. This heat-resistant steel gives the exhaust significantly better resistance to very high temperatures.
The system uses the original tips mounted in the rear bumper. No modifications are required to install this exhaust; it is a perfect fit for the vehicle.
The rear mufflers feature vacuum-operated valves for sound adjustment, allowing the exhaust note to vary from comfortable to more aggressive.
The valves are operated using the included module and wireless remotes. The Capristo module adjusts valve opening according to engine load to help maximize power. It continuously monitors exhaust pressure and controls the valves according to the selected mode:
- CRUISE - the valves open later, with greater accelerator input, for quieter and more relaxed operation,
- SPORT - the valves open sooner, with every acceleration, for a louder and more aggressive exhaust note,
- OPEN - valves permanently open.
This solution adapts valve operation to driving style. During aggressive driving, the valves open almost instantly; during relaxed driving, the system remains quieter and less aggressive, for example when cruising. Module settings can also be individually programmed. Valve operation is controlled by a wireless remote, while the selected mode is shown on the radio RDS display.
Capristo manufactures performance exhaust systems in Sundern, Germany, using T309 stainless steel. Hand welding and polishing are distinctive parts of its production process.
The brand has roots in Ferrari applications and develops products for sports and luxury cars. Capristo exhausts combine high-temperature resistance with detailed finishing, making them an option for a carefully personalised vehicle.
Capristo uses mandrel-bent tubing to preserve the pipe shape through curved sections. The company operates its own development and testing facilities and holds international patents for its designs. Carbon-fibre components complement the exhaust range, linking sound upgrades with exterior detailing.
History and development. Capristo began in 1990 supplying parts for Ferrari and Maserati. In 2002, Antonio Capristo decided to manufacture sports exhausts in-house, and carbon-fibre component production became another business area from 2013.
The business today. The current range combines exhaust systems with carbon-fibre parts for sports and luxury cars from multiple manufacturers. Sundern remains associated with product development and manufacturing, while the products are sold internationally. Exhausts therefore form part of a broader modification portfolio rather than the company’s only area of activity.
