Dinan offers performance exhaust systems for vehicles including BMW and MINI, using 304 stainless steel. Its range includes axle-back silencers, mid-pipes and selected valved systems.
Development focuses on a sporty yet civilised exhaust note and reduced cabin drone. Depending on the application, polished or black-coated tips allow the exhaust finish to complement the vehicle.
Dinan’s technical paper for the E90/E92 BMW M3 describes combining straight-through silencers with a Helmholtz chamber. This approach was developed to reduce low-frequency drone without reintroducing numerous internal changes in flow direction. The example illustrates how the brand evaluates backpressure, weight and acoustic comfort together for a specific vehicle.
History and development. Steve Dinan founded the company in 1979, initially concentrating on BMW motorsport development. Electronic tuning joined its engine and chassis work in the late 1980s, helping turn individual modifications into a broader performance programme.
The business today. Dinan now operates as a Holley Tuning Group brand, offering mechanical components, intakes, exhausts and software products. BMW remains a major focus, complemented by MINI and selected additional marques. An authorised-centre network, including independent workshops and selected dealerships, supports product sales and customer service.
