HMS manufactures stainless steel performance exhaust systems using hand-applied WIG/TIG welding. The brand develops its own exhaust designs and valve controls for individual vehicle types.
A distinctive feature is the scope for selecting tailpipe shapes and finishes. HMS systems combine adjustable sound character with visual personalisation, making them suitable for a carefully coordinated tuning project.
HMS identifies V2A 1.4301 stainless steel as a material used in its exhausts. A typical system starts after the catalytic converter and includes pipework, a rear silencer and, depending on the version, a front silencer or X-pipe. Even once a design enters series production, individual systems remain hand-built and quality-checked.
History and development. Markus Handloser founded HMS in June 1994 in Leiselheim, in Germany’s Kaiserstuhl region. Business growth and expansion into new markets led to a move to Malterdingen in 2004, providing a base for customer services and product development.
The business today. HMS continues to combine in-house development and production with tuning services. It serves sports-car and luxury-car owners, including customers seeking individual configurations. Its combination of workshop services, advice and manufacturing supports projects that extend beyond the sale of a catalogue silencer.
