Milltek is a British performance exhaust manufacturer that uses T304L stainless steel in its performance products. The brand develops and tests exhaust systems at facilities including its centre near the Nürburgring.
Its engineering process combines 3D scanning, laser cutting and CNC tube bending to create vehicle-specific components. Milltek exhaust systems suit drivers seeking a sportier soundtrack, a durable material and a design developed for their particular model.
Milltek is primarily based in Derby and also operates a development and distribution facility in Knoxville, USA. The manufacturer highlights T304L steel’s resistance to degradation and discolouration compared with many other stainless grades. The range includes EC-approved systems tested by TÜV in Germany, with approval coverage depending on the specific product.
History and development. Milltek was established in Britain in 1983. It gradually expanded manufacturing in Derby and Ilkeston, opening a dedicated advanced manufacturing centre in 2021. Motorsport participation and exhaust development for enthusiast vehicles have also shaped the company’s growth.
The business today. Today, the business combines UK production with testing at the Nürburgring and development operations in Knoxville, USA. It serves modern vehicles alongside older enthusiast cars through Milltek Classic, supported by an international dealer network. Its operations extend from in-house development to manufacturing and distribution.
